Twister Ice-Cream Float

Image
Well hello there, I am back in the UK, yay! I have a tonne of reviews, look books and general posts coming at you. Today I thought I would post up my favourite cold dessert for this warm weather. When I was younger we use to always beg for ice-cream in a pint glass with fizzy orange poured over it. Oh my Lord it is divine. I now use Twisters, the ice lollies or raspberry ripple ice-cream. YUM!! I buy the small mini Twisters and this orange drink is actually Irish but you can get it in Morrisons. Feel free to use your own preferred ice-cream or brands. I love this dessert or refresher. It really cools you down. You could go for a third Twister in the pint glass but again, your choice. It tastes so good and of course is not healthy but hey it's ok. Have you any weird dessert recipes? Let me know. V xox

HOMESICKNESS!!

Image
Good Afternoon, I've never really known how to write a post like this. I am one for being honest, if you read my 'Getting Personal' or 'Guru Gossip' post then you will know I don't tend to hold back, much!! Homesickness is something that frightens me. It pushes me backwards at times and can cripple my emotions. I hate being homesick. I am Irish and only live across the water in the UK but to me at times, it feels like the far side of the world. I hate it. So negative aren't I? Now at 30 years of age you would think I would be more adult and mature about how  I handle my feelings, but nope. I think as time goes on I don't think I am as bad as I was before but I certainly don't have a good handling on homesickness itself. Why am I posting about this I hear you ask? Well firstly why not? Secondly I can and want to but more importantly I think it can help people. I know a handful of humans that live away from Ireland or America etc and suf...

WHAT'S ON MY FACE FRIDAY #1 || NAKED 3 MAKEUP LOOK

Image
Hey, I have been using my Naked 3 palette loads lately so I thought I would share a look here on my little blog. I do have some looks on my YouTube channel. Pop over should you wish!! By the way this was last Friday's look, sorry. I aim to do a WOMF ever Friday to liven up my blog and to use the palettes I have. I have too many. I am a true palette girl. What do you all prefer?       Above are all the products I used. Some are golden oldies but some are relatively new. If you check the sidebar there are reviews on my blog. I have been tossing between Bourjois Healthy Mix and Happy Light. Both are extremely good. The Healthy Mix is better for lasting all day and covering my redness. I don't tend to use my Sleek Luminous Powder often but sometimes it's nice dusted over the skin. The highlighting concealer from Catrice is gorgeous on my high cheekbones. I used my MUA highlighter and my Sleek Rose Gold blush for the perfect glowy effect. I ha...

Catrice Eyebrow Filler

Image
Hello, So, we all have a routine with our eyebrows. Some may do them to great detail daily and then there are people, like me, who want it done as quick as possible. I have been eyeing up a Sigma eyebrow kit but will wait until I see more reviews for it first. The wand for this product is large, kind of like mascara large. That is the only drawback. The wand bristles are small so it is perfect for your brow area. I love how it applies the product evenly but it doesn't leave clunks of product. It looks so natural and stays put all day. As you can see the brown is a taupe brown. It's not too cool either. It can easily be used on dark eyebrows as my eyebrows are jet black and it works a treat. I would highly recommend this product. I buy Catrice in a pharmacy in Ireland but it is sometimes on Amazon or eBay. Have a wonderful day, V xox

Collection Does It All 5in1 Mascara

Image
Hey. Well the other week I saw Shaaanxo instagram a picture of her lashes using a Collection mascara. I thought wow that's pretty impressive for a product under £5. This mascara claims to curl, volumise, lengthen, condition and that it's long wearing. I can tell you now this is all true. I have been testing this for about a month now and it is seriously impressive.  I am terribly fussy with mascaras. I don't tend to like the massive wands with tonnes of bristles sticking every which way. It was very surprising to me that I love this mascara. The wand is very comparable to Maybelline 'The Rocket' and Benefit 'They're Real'. When I tried Maybelline's 'The Rocket' I was constantly poking myself in the eye or mascara would go all over my eye lid. I didn't find that it did a whole lot for my eyelashes. This beauty is £4.99 in Boots or Super Drug and sometimes they have it on offer for £4. I genuinely love this...

GURU GOSSIP, BLOGGER PROBLEMS.

I was recently talking with two of my blogging friends about the blogging world. I won't name their names as it is none of anyones business, to be honest. I have been blogging less than a year but I have been reading blogs for in around two years now. WHY IS EVERYONE SO GOD DARN UP THEIR OWN ASS? Blogging is about being in a community that shares a common ground to talk about makeup, skincare and all things pretty. I feel like the community is on its knees and we have succumbed to letting a petty website called GURU GOSSIP rule the roast. It pains me to read BIG BLOGGERS and their two cents on the website. Oh my because you have over 1,000 followers, you are God? Get real. Whilst I think the website is ridiculous, I do think it's funny but on the other hand I believe that 90% of that website is LIES! It is a handful of people with nothing better to do and they clearly miss Gossip Girl. I recently advertised on a BIG BLOGGERS blog and for £12.50 I got my button on her ...

Maybelline Gel Eye Liner Pen

Image
Hello hello, Well today I have a rather nice post. I have been doing my best to get into gel liner and doing the whole cat eye/wing effect but it's taking time, let's just say. My sister Emer is really into eye liner and wears it most days. Emer wouldn't always use gel liner either. I saw this product in her makeup bag mid week when she was visiting Ireland and had to give it a go. Emer ended up giving it to me as I love it. It is so difficult to photograph this product BUT it is extremely similiar to the Benefit Push Up Liner, that has yet to be released. In the last picture you can see the gel comes out at an angle. It is a flexible plastic tip. What I like is the wind up/down lid, it makes it less messy and the product won't get damaged should you travel. The tip is slim and whilst it's flexible, it's not unsteady. It is a black liner but tends to need a few swipes to be very black. It is also waterproof and I mean it is not going ...
